Two recent reflections photos: the first from the Ides of March Festival in Somerville, a mirror set up to help people properly fasten their togas, and the second, the reflection of a military band from the bell of the tuba at the Boston St. Patrick’s Day parade.
Yesterday was Boston’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. It was freezing, but most of the revelers didn’t care. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day.
Somerville, Mass., is known for its quirkiness, so it was no surprise when we discovered it was hosting an Ides of March Festival Saturday. There were secret meetings, a ceremonial “coronation” of Caesar, a soothsayer and more. Good fun, and a great opportunity to teach some history.
Lots of cute kids were enjoying the festivities at Maple Sugar Days on the Blue Hills Reservation south of Boston.
