This week’s challenge is to take photos we’ve shot while traveling, and which show humanity. I still think of photos I take in Boston as travel photos, even though we’re coming up on three years here. Still, though, most of my photos for this challenge will be from this spring’s trip to Colombia.
Observers at the Cambridge International Carnival.
Man, outside the coffee cooperative we were visiting.
Wide variety of pics here, most of farmers in Colombia who were showing Americans what they do, or just watching and listening as their family or friends did. 🙂 Good times.
If you have pics you thing will fit the theme, click on the link above and participate in the challenge. I dare you! 🙂
I was at the Caribbean Carnival Sunday, trying to get a close-up of a woman’s face, with her eyes peeking out from the feathers. I obviously failed, but I really like the image that was created instead. This is it.
I recently posted photos from the Boston Carnival event, and this weekend, we attended a similar event (with some of the same performers and costumes) in Cambridge. We started at the staging area, and had the opportunity to watch workers put some of the large costumes/props together. We then hustled out to the parade route, to watch the performers in action. Such a fun event, and I highly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to see it, or a similar one closer to your home.
Here are some of my favorite photos from the day:
As always, click on any picture to see it larger. Thanks for stopping by!
Hubby and I wandered to the airport Hyatt to watch Boston’s newest tradition – Labor Day fireworks. Despite all the fireworks, my favorite picture of the night was outside the stairwell of the parking lot.
