My sweet little hometown has a variety of events for the 4th of July, including a walking horse race (if your horse breaks stride, you’re disqualified), a parade, which includes kids on bikes and kids in their little plastic cars, and a duck race on the Snake River. My favorite photo from yesterday’s events is this one.
We’ve been away from our home for so many springs, I didn’t know whether any of our flowers remained! And the spiders stuck around, too.
A friend mentioned that the orchards near his workplace were in full bloom, so we went out to see if the assessment was accurate. Yes and no. We saw some fully-blossoming orchards, and others that were a week or two away from blossoming. Still saw some lovely scenery, and it’s nice to see that grapes and wineries haven’t completely taken over the area that used to be completely covered in fruit orchards.
Pretty sure this was a cherry tree.
Cherries, or possibly plums.
I don’t know – you tell me. Cherries?
Often seen in pairs in the older trees around my house, and occasionally perched on telephone poles.
Soon, the tulips will bloom, and I’ll have photos other than birds to share.
