Greenhouse at Mt. Holyoke College, Mass.

Enjoyed an afternoon walk around a lake at Mt. Holyoke College in (I assume) Holyoke, Mass., yesterday, followed by a visit to the Mt. Holyoke College greenhouse. They obviously take great pride in their greenhouse. So many different varieties of plants! Each “family,” or type, in the same room, followed by another room filled with a different type of plant. Many of the plants in what I deemed the “tropical” room were similar to what I saw in Colombia in May of 2014. These are some of my favorite images.

Tiniest squirrel ever. We weren't sure whether it was a squirrel or a chipmunk, until I got close enough to determine it had no stripes. Acted a lot like a chipmunk, and was the same size.

Afternoon at the Arboretum

A few hours in the Arnold Arboretum turned up a wide variety of flowers and other photo opportunities. These are some of my favorites.

I was taking pictures of this empty nest, and every time I got closer to it, a robin behind me started to freak out. I finally decided she probably had eggs in there, so I didn’t get any closer. When I walked away, she made a beeline for the nest!

Early Spring in the Arboretum

We finally came upon a few signs of spring in the Arnold Arboretum, in Boston, this weekend. Magnolia blooms peeking out from their pods? Boom. Done.

Magnolias, pussy willows, bees and crocuses (crocii?). As always, click on any picture to see it larger (click on all theĀ  pictures – you’ll want to see them larger. You want to buy them? OK. Wait – that website’s not functional yet. Send me a message, or comment, and we’ll work something out).
