We had snow on Thursday, followed by freezing rain on Friday and the beginnings of a thaw on Saturday. These are my favorite images from Saturday.
I have a couple of favorites here. Which do you like best?
Oh give me a home, where the
roam, where the
and the
play …
Hubby and I took a four-day weekend, driving through some of Idaho’s more remote locations, to Montana, where we hung out in the Missoula area. The bison and mule deer photos were made at the National Bison Range, north of Missoula. The antelope image was made south of Stanley, Idaho. I do have antelope images from the Bison Range, but I liked this one better.
A couple of rare finds from the bison range:
Bighorn ram, and
A mama black bear and her three cubs.
This is an excursion I would recommend to anyone. It took a couple hours to drive through the range, and if you’re not good at spotting wildlife, just stop where the other cars have stopped, and look in the direction they’re looking. On a cloudy day in October, we encountered five other vehicles. Not especially busy, but I’m not sure we’d have seen the ram without assistance. He was right next to the road!
Our poor flowerbeds have been sorely neglected over the past five summers while we’ve been gallivanting around the Northeast, but some flowers remain. This is a bud from a plant I put in this spring.
We often see this crane, or another just like it, on one of three poles in a field just a short drive from our house. Today, I had the camera ready.
Took a weekend trip from eastern Oregon through the Palouse region of Washington, to Spokane. Here are some of my favorite images of the trip.
